Santiburi Country Club Chiang Rai opened 1993 designed to take advantage of the natural terrain by Robert Trent-Jones Jr, one of the world's finest golf course designers, this is a championship 18 hole, par 72 test for novice or golf professional alike.

The course designer has gone through a great deal of effort to create a water-friendly course with plenty of bunkers, sloping lies and good dog-leg holes. None is more difficult than the course's par-5 18th where not only do players have to negotiate around a water hazard on the left side of the green from the tee shot, but also on the right of the green on the approach shot. Designed to maximize the risk/reward theory means varied options for many of the par 4 and 5 giving conservation approaches for the novice and challenging hazards for the more experienced golfers." The 18 hole, par 72, Peter Thomson designed links style course opened in February 1996. The par 4, 4th ( Hcp 1) is an absolute brute of a hole, playing at 440 yards from the back tees and uphill all the way. Not a hole for the faint hearted. This hole is an exception as the key to scoring well, points more towards accuracy than length. More so, considering there is 94 well-placed bunkers to catch any stray shots. You will find many streams and lakes throughout the 18 holes but not all are in play. The course offers all levels of golfers an enjoyable round with a chance to score well.

Many of the holes are set with beautiful mountain backdrops, so if your game goes to the pack at least the course and it’s backdrops will be pleasing to the eye.

All Tees, Fairways and Roughs are grassed with 419 Bermuda grass and Greens with imported Tiff Dwarf Bermuda grass.A practice putting and chipping green, as well as a driving range are available for you to fine tune your skills before attacking the course.The hotel's rooms are decorated stylishly. Every window overlooks the valley, lush green hills or well-landscaped golf course. From deluxe rooms to suites, all are fully equipped for every need of the guests.
