About this course
Description
This course feels like a traditional British golf course lay-out. 27 holes with a good feel. Greens run very true and tend to well guarded. A feature of the fairways is strategically placed pot bunkers. Although set in rolling country-side the course is not too hilly and easy to walk. There is a nice balance of shorter and longer holes and good shot making can produce an excellent score here. This course is well worth the slightly longer drive.
Signature Holes:
Course A, Hole 8
Here is a classic dog-leg par four offering a wide fairway as a target,Closing to a bottleneck at the critical range, thus offering the log hitters a temptation to take on the bunkers. The narrow stream crossing before the green adds an extra feature, while the green is bunkered in the classical manner. Small bunkers light against the putting.
Course B, Hole 4
Par five of 550 yards are always formidable, but this one looks enjoyable for the fact that prepared traps come only at the green end. So make your way gently to the 'business end' of this hole and avoid the trouble if you can! Long hitters will find it a strong challenge to make the green in two and perhaps putt for an eagle, while others should find it a pleasant par five.
Course C, Hole 9
This is a finishing hole providing a stunning climax to the course. Visually, it should be a stunning hole. To play it, might be a scary experience, for it has length, water, and a fair expanse of sand. However, played carefully, it should be comfortable to those who cannot manage its demands. A score of five should be no disgrace!
